Jonathan Haack – Treasurer

Jonathan Haack, Treasurer, NMCTM.  Jonathan Haack lives by the saying “It is better to have tried and failed than to have succeeded at doing nothing.”  Jonathan is currently Adjunct Faculty at Santa Fe Community College, where he teaches Mathematics and Computer Science.   Jonathan does not only teach students about mathematics and computers, but also applies these concepts in the real-world as a systems administrator and technology consultant at Schaefer IT Consulting.  In  addition to his work at the college and in the technology world, Jonathan tutors and consults on mathematics, serves on the Board of Directors of NM Partnership for Math & Science Education, and is currently aiding in the formation of a new non-profit, the Santa Fe Stable Community.  Jonathan holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College (Santa Fe) ’04, an M.A. in Curriculum & Instruction from New Mexico Highlands University ’16, a Level III Secondary endorsed teacher with a National Board AYA Mathematics Certification ’16, and a newly minted EdD cohort member at UNM.  He is also a proud father of two children and a happy husband.  In his spare time, he jogs, hikes, studies *nix and free software solutions, and writes about math, politics, philosophy, and more, on his personal wiki.
